Or in English: Mussels and Chips. Not strictly diet friendly but a speciality in this part of France. They are everywhere, for lunch, dinner; starters and mains.
In my opinion they are best served mariniere, meaning they are in a light tomatoey, garlic sauce – not too bad for you. Though on the diet I wouldn’t recommend the curry flavour as in Brittany, where they don’t really have Indian food, it’s basically just milk, coconut and cumin.
The mussels are always fresh and deliciously tasty, just be warned the portions are generally very large! And as for the chips, they tend to be freshly prepared here…and I won’t tell anyone if you don’t either!
