Chocolate spread

As promised, here is my take on nutty chocolate spread…original recipe from the Deliciously Ella book again!

How to make: well this one is even more ridiculously simple than the last…and even quicker to do. 

First of all you preheat your oven to around 180. 

Then you take some nuts (Ella uses 375g of hazelnuts), we used what we had which was about 200g of Walnuts and peacans…as long as you balance the other ingredients it doesn’t matter, and bake them in the oven for 10 minutes and leave them to cool. 


Once cooled process/blend untill they are liquidy/sticky…trust me keep going and they will get there! Then add 150ml of maple syrup and 3 tablespoons of cacao powder (that is if your going with Ella’s original 375g of nuts)and blend or fold it all together. 


 Voila chocolate spread…easier than going out to the store and buying it, not to mention a lot less processed and with the health benefits of cacao powder!!!  Also, another benefit…the spread tastes great on top of the oat cookies I made yesterday! 

 Can’t wait for my toast in the morning!
